Sometimes you have to set aside all that high falutin' art business and ask yourself...is THIS the greatest music video ever made?

Highlights:
Geordie LaForge as the detective.
Somebody is the crowd heckling the cop by yelling "Get on your computer then!"
Startled bandmate looking strangely guilty as he's caught frying eggs.
Do I need to mention the codpiece? No.
Are those hookers in the "Do your dance" segment?
The homeboy in the backround wearing leather shorts and a Gilligan hat.
Singer schooling waver kid.
Backlit chicks dancing in front of bars.
Rowr-I'm-A-Tiger interpretive dance scenes.
The keytaur player's bitchen hairdo.
Unsettling stripper cop scene.
Spandex.
Geordie getting a swift right.
Brilliant!
Jeez, I was just lamenting last night about how music videos aren't as much of a cultural commodity as they used to be. My friends and I were remembering staying up all night long to tape videos off of "Night Tracks" or "Friday Night Videos" or whichever music video showcase was available to us. And we would talk about what videos we got at school the next day and everything?!
Now music videos are still just as experimental and creative as ever, and they are ALL on youtube, but it don't seem to matter like it used to, ya know?
Sad.
And then we watched Billy Squier's "Rock Me Tonight" video.... heh..

Ouch. Why must you lash out like that? :)
this is HIGHlarious. never knew levar burton was a cameo fan, hell i only know him from reading rainbow and as you so rightly pointed out: star trek.
and again...the codpiece. do you think before they shot the video that cameo was in the shower thinking to himself...hmmm, what will i wear in the shoot? OH I KNOW!!!! MY RED CODPIECE!!
mmmmmm, word up!
What's frightening is that he is not only wearing a red codpiece with spandex pants, but that he's also kinda making it work./Tim Gunn voice/
You know, when you hear the call you got to get it underway.
